The Escape doesn't change much for 2025 aside from some equipment revisions. The hybrid variant (192 horsepower) costs just over $40,000. Higher up, the Escape Plug-in Hybrid offers an electric range of 60 km but is not available with all-wheel drive. Combined fuel consumption: 6 L/100 km.

8. 2025 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid LE AWD – MSRP starting from $36,635

The RAV4 Hybrid (219 horsepower) is an immensely popular SUV, elevating the RAV4 as the second best-selling vehicle in the country. Price increases are expected. Combined fuel consumption: 6 L/100 km.
7. 2025 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid SE AWD – MSRP starting from $34,845

By the way, Toyota Canada hasn't decided to stop importing this U.S.-built vehicle due to Canadian counter-tariffs—unlike Mazda with the CX-50, which comes from the same factory. Combined fuel consumption: 5.6 L/100 km.
6. 2025 Ford Maverick Hybrid XL – MSRP starting from $34,600

The Maverick received a mid-cycle update for 2025, and its base price increased by $900 in the process. The high-demand hybrid powertrain is now available with all-wheel drive for an extra $2,500. For Canadian customers, getting one remains difficult, however. Combined fuel consumption: 6.4 L/100 km.

4. 2026 Honda Civic Sport Hybrid – MSRP starting from $34,100

Combined fuel consumption: 4.9 L/100 km.
3. 2025 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid Luxury – MSRP starting from $31,099

Up $600 over last year’s model, the Elantra Hybrid (139 horsepower) comes in a single trim level and remains very affordable and, above all, highly efficient, as we found out during a test drive this spring. Of course, you have to like its design. Combined fuel consumption: 4.7 L/100 km.
2. 2025 Kia Niro LX – MSRP starting from $30,795
