2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV: Same Base Price, New Trail Boss Model
Chevrolet has announced changes and pricing details for the 2026 Silverado EV as far as the Canadian market is concerned. The first units are slated to arrive this summer. The main highlight is the addition of a Trail Boss model—a popular trim on the gasoline-powered Silverado and Colorado pickups—replacing the RST at the top of the lineup.
“It’s an impressive truck that will meet the capability needs of our customers looking to get off trail and still have all the features customers have come to love about Silverado EV, including range and off-road power,” chief engineer Joe Roy said.
The Silverado EV Trail Boss boasts a 2-inch lift and 24 percent higher ground clearance compared to the base model. The coil suspension system is uniquely tuned with a hydraulic rebound control system. Also, a Terrain mode offers additional control when maneuvering areas with uneven terrain at low speeds. It unlocks sharper four-wheel steering, too. Meanwhile, Sidewinder mode allows all four wheels to turn in the same direction and move the truck diagonally at low speeds (the equivalent of CrabWalk on the GMC Hummer EV).

What about capability? The new Trail Boss with the Extended Range battery pack offers a max towing of 12,500 lbs and 2,100 lbs of payload. Up to 725 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque are available with the Max Range battery pack. Other highlights include 35-inch all-terrain tires with unique 18-inch wheels, plus a model-specific front fascia designed to offer a larger approach angle (not to mention tow hooks).
More Good News for 2026
Chevrolet is adding three new body colours to the 2026 Silverado EV including White Sands, Polar White Tricoat and Magnus Gray Matte Metallic. As part of Super Cruise driver assistance enhancements, look for integration with Google Maps that navigates to the correct lane on Super Cruise-compatible roads. Furthermore, adaptive cruise control has been upgraded so you can choose to automatically adjust speed to match posted speed limits.

With these various changes and the addition of the Trail Boss model, the company hopes to keep its momentum going in the electric pickup segment in Canada. From 12.1 percent at the end of 2024, the Silverado EV’s market share increased to 23.7 percent in the first quarter of 2025.
