Genesis unveils the X Speedium Coupe in New York

It was during the New York Auto Show that Genesis unveiled the X Speedium Coupe concept, a sports car designed by the hand of Luc Donckerwolke, Genesis Creative Director and 2022 Global Automotive Personality of the Year. Donckerwolke defines his creation as an exercise that takes a minimalist design approach.

A possible production model would be inevitably powered by an electric motor. “This car represents an opening moment in the Genesis journey towards the future design of our EVs,” says Luc Donckerwolke.

Up front, the concept takes the stacked headlights design to a new level, creating a full-width pattern that accentuates the signature Genesis grille shape. The metallic emerald green color of the concept is called "Inje Green".

We also notice that the X Speedium Coupe concept is devoid of pronounced angles "It is not a question of putting the design elements in competition with each other, but of harmonizing them so that they complement and respect each other" concludes Donckerwolke.

Donckerwolke is the man behind several creations that have left their mark in the automotive world, namely fine British and Italian sports cars, and we can see the influence of his pedigree in this new concept.
