Is Stellantis Prepping a New Six-Cylinder Turbo?
Several media outlets have recently reported the presence of a new 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine in the ranks of manufacturer Stellantis. However, evidence of this presence was quickly removed from the company's platforms. Here is what we know.

This new engine could be called GMET6 HO (Global Medium Engine Turbo 6 High Output) or "Tornado". Some patent applications and diagrams - dated November 2019 - suggest that it could be an inline-six gas mill, and could make its way under the hoods of the Ram 1500, Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator as well as the Wagoneer.
No data is currently available on horsepower and torque. The Tornado allegedly began production on November 22 at Ramos Arizpe's Mexican plant in Coahuila.

Why did Stellantis swiftly withdraw the information regarding this engine? Perhaps the company did not want to announce its new project prematurely. Or, maybe this mill is simply not quite ready for the public eye.
More information will follow.
