Behold the Tesla-killing Faraday Future FF 91!

We were waiting for it for a while now, but Faraday Future, another California-based purveyor of electric vehicles, has just officially launched its FF 91 at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) that open its doors today in Las Vegas.

Behind Faraday is a Chinese billionaire, who helped the little, 1000-employee startup build its factory, but also to develop several interesting technologies.

According to the manufacturer, it’s the most technologically advanced car in the world. The FF 91 boasts the most powerful computers ever installed in a vehicle. All this hardware promises a fully autonomous driving experience, the car being able to park itself after dropping us off at work.

The FF 91 also promises breathtaking performance. The 0-96 km/h (0-60 mph) dash is cleared in less than 2.4 seconds, thanks to a fully electric output of 1050 horsepower. The vehicle’s range is also set at more than 700 km. In addition, Faraday claims the FF 91 has the fastest charge times in the world, and is currently working on a wireless charge setup.

In a nutshell, the FF 91 would be quicker than a Tesla Model S P100D Ludicrous and offer greater range.

Faraday is suggesting we reserve our unit for the sum of $5,000, fully reimbursable if we change our mind. The vehicle’s price has not yet been announced.

As for styling and cabin design, Faraday Future says it has created a no-compromise, spacious and sporty vehicle. In other words, it’s a luxury electric crossover. Inside, each occupant gets his or her own configurable display, with a user profile setup that follows us everywhere. If we step into another FF 91, we can continue exactly where we left off. Same thing goes for the driver, as preferences and settings will follow automatically.

Some great promises, which should end up giving Tesla a serious run for its money – at last, some might say.

By now, we probably understood that we’re not talking about a Tesla Model 3 rival here, but as vehicle destined for wealthy buyers.

More details will come, and we should actually be driving the FF 91 on Friday. Stay tuned!
