Ferrari GTC4Lusso features four-wheel steering, V12 engine

It appears as though Ferrari is far from done with the concept of a hatchback super car, with the automaker unveiling the GTC4Lusso ahead of its Geneva debut.

Set to succeed the FF in Ferrari's lineup, the GTC4Lusso packs all the greatness the Italian automaker is known for in a package with room for four.

Powered by a 6.3-litre V12 that makes 680 horsepower and 514 lb.-ft. of torque, 80 per cent of which Ferrari claims is available at just 1,750 rpm, the car is good for 29 more horsepower and 10 lb.-ft. more than the FF, while the run from 0 to 100 km/h, at 3.4 seconds, is 0.3 seconds faster than the current hatch in the automaker's stable.

Like in the FF, Ferrari's 4RM four-wheel drive system is on board for the ride in the GTC4Lusso, with the added advantage of four-wheel steering—a first for Ferrari.

The design, too, is a step forward, with a much edgier look, particularly around back thanks to the dual taillights and race-like diffuser.

Inside, the GTC4Lusso features a so-called "Dual Cockpit," another Ferrari first, that is "designed to enhance the shared driving experience for both driver and passenger, with the latter having their own generous optional display with a plethora of functions."

Images released by Ferrari look to show engine speed, gear and speed info on a panoramic screen in the dash in front of the passenger.

A new infotainment system runs through the car's 10.25-inch touchscreen in the centre stack.

Expect more details after its Geneva Motor Show debut in March.
