Mopar opens books on Dodge Challenger Drag Pak cars
Mopar has opened the order books for the new Mopar Dodge Challenger Drag Pak, which features a very limited run of supercharged and naturally-aspirated muscle cars destined for the drag strip.
Only 60 Challenger Drag Pak cars will be built—25 powered by a 7.0-litre naturally-aspirated HEMI V8, and 35 powered by a 5.8-litre supercharged HEMI, marking the first time the powerplant has ever been offered with forced induction.
Mated to both engines are three-speed transmissions with Hurst shifters, while all cars get solid nine-inch rear axles.
The front suspension setup features a unique Mopar K-Member and suspension geometry, with adjustable compression and rebound struts, while out back is a four-link suspension with Panhard bar, 40-spline gun drilled axles, four-inch diameter driveshaft, shocks with adjustable compression, and rebound and an anti-roll bar.
The car rides on 15-inch wheels, with 28-inch by 4.5-inch Hoosier drag radials up front and 30-inch by nine-inch out back.
Inside, the Challenger Drag Pak cars get NHRA-approved roll cages, a Mopar gauge pack, lightweight racing seats, a safety net, and a five-point harnesses.
The naturally-aspirated cars carry a US$99,426 sticker, while the boosted cars are priced at US$109,354.
