Why Not Organise A Scavenger Hunt By Car?

You’re looking for something to do with your friends that will challenge their imagination, quickness and resourcefulness? Organise a scavenger hunt by car!

The idea is surprisingly simple. We just split the group in small teams of two (one person drives, the other navigates) and make sure every team has a car. The teams will all have a list of objects to find before returning to the starting point, or reaching a finish line.

Each object picked up along the way and the mileage needed to find them will be awarded with a certain amount of points. The objects on the list shouldn’t be too easy or too hard to find, and each team will need to bring a camera along to snap a picture of a team member at the locations where they picked up the objects. Obviously, proof is needed to discourage cheaters.

A fortune cookie from an Asian restaurant, the local paper of a nearby town, the sales brochure of a model in a car dealership, or even a piece of clothing bought in a thrift shop are all free or low-cost objects that can be added to the list. Or, to spice things up a little more, how about the business card of an erotic boutique?

We can also set up a scavenger hunt that doesn’t require finding objects, but with random acts of kindness to perform. Like helping an elderly person cross the street, for example, petting a dog or filling up the grocery bag of a stranger in a supermarket. All caught in pictures or on video for proof, of course.

However, keep in mind that road safety must remain a priority, so it’s best not to make it a race against the clock, and that everyone must respect road regulations. Otherwise, a scavenger hunt is definitely a fun activity amongst friends and family.
