Arash AF10: Upping the Ante with 2,080 Horsepower

In the stratospheric world of supercars, there are two different ways of thinking: some, like Koenigsegg and Pagani, aim for balance. They develop cars that are as easy to drive as they are powerful. Others, like Hennessey, simply want the highest possible numbers, the fastest or the most powerful. Both approaches can produce interesting results.

At the Geneva Auto Show, a firm believer of the second school of thought will show off its car: the Arash AF10, an English creation, will be presented. This supercar features Ferrari Enzo styling and a supercharged V8 engine paired with four electric motors that team up to produce 2,080 horsepower.

The engineering under the car looks complex: the gasoline V8 sends power to all four wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox (or an automatic, if you prefer). Each electric motor is also fitted to a two-speed gearbox. All this generates 1,683 pound-feet of torque and makes the AF10 fly: it goes from 0 to 100 km/h in less than three seconds and will enable it to hit 323 km/h.

There will also be a bargain version: the AF8 will feature a 7.0-litre Chevrolet V8 producing 476 horsepower and should only weigh 1,200 kg. Performance promises to be interesting.
