Red Bull Trophies Stolen

The Red Bull Formula One office was victim of a peculiar crime: last weekend, more than half of their Grand Prix trophies were stolen.

The theft looked like something out of an action movie: a silver SUV drove right through the front window. Following closely behind, a black Mercedes-Benz Station Wagon pulled inside, and 6 thieves started loading trophies into the vehicles. In total, they stole 64 statues out of the 120 that were on display. The police have said that it is unlikely that the trophies will be resold: there is virtually no one who would buy them (who knows? Maybe Ferrari is interested?), and judging by how the thieves just threw their loot into the back of the vehicles, they will probably smelt them and sell the resulting silver ingot.

Red Bull Formula 1 program director Christian Horner is saddened by this loss: while the trophies did not have a huge monetary value, they represented a great deal of hard work by the team.
