The Lamborghini Urus Will be Built in Slovakia

According to rumors, Lamborghini's next SUV will be built in Slovakia.

Named the Urus, it would ride on VW's MLB platform. This architecture is also used for many other full-size vehicles, like the VW Touareg, the Audi Q7, the next Porsche Cayenne and Bentley's first SUV. All of these models are assembled at the Bratilava factory.

To be able to meet demand, the Slovakian assembly plant has recently been equipped with VW's biggest metal press. It can produce body panels out of steel or aluminium.

The Lamborghini Urus will be the first Lambo SUV since the LM002. The LM002 was equipped with a Countach V12 producing 420 HP, and could hit 100 km/h in 8 seconds. If you wanted more power, the manufacturer could cram a 7.2L V12 in it. That engine came from a racing boat, and made an ungodly amount of power.

According to the italian manufacturer, its latest SUV will look very similar to the concept unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show, in 2012. This one made heavy uses of carbon fiber, and the engineers promised us that the vehicle would make more than 600 HP.
