Infiniti Electric Car Delayed Again

It's been quite a wait for the Infiniti electric car, which first broke cover in 2012 at the New York Auto Show.  It seems that the delays are going to push the car's debut back even further, with the 2015 release date no longer considered accurate by the luxury automaker.

The reason?  Infiniti has elected to cram even more technology under the four-door LE concept's metal skin before offering it to the public as a production model.  Specifically, the Infiniti EV will now offer more advanced charging and battery capabilities than were included in the finished model.  In fact, the Automotive News is reporting that a lack of a clear victor in the battle to determine the standard for wireless induction charging - a wanted feature in the Infiniti EV - has played a role in slowing the vehicle's march towards showrooms.

There is a bonus for those patient enough to wait for the Infiniti EV, however.  With the use of more modern lithium ion battery technology, the premium brand is predicting that the sedan will offer a greater range than originally planned at a lower price than initially expected.
