Porsche Marks the 911’s 50th Anniversary at Goodwood
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is a spectacular event where motor racing enthusiasts pay tribute to speed. This year, Porsche is taking advantage of the event’s 20th edition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary 911.
It’s a golden opportunity to have fun with a host of 911s that have made their mark in history through their performances on racetracks, in rallies and on the road.
Among the cars present, there will be models from all eras and with all kinds of titles under their belts from events such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Paris-Dakar Rally in the 1980s and in Group GT3.
The German manufacturer is also giving the Lohner-Porsche Semper Vivus – the world’s first hybrid car – a place of honour at the Goodwood event.

A sculpture honouring the 911
Every year, Goodwood pays homage to one particular brand, which must then try to design an immense sculpture for the event. This year, it’s Porsche’s turn.
This sculpture is inspired by the venerable 911, which is celebrating its 50th birthday in style.
