2013 Fiat 500 Abarth : Coupe and Convertible versions

Fiat adds a convertible to its Fiat 500 Abarth line.
The company presented these North American firsts at the LA Auto Show alongside the electric powered Fiat 500e.
Of course, as befitting any car sporting the famous Abarth insignia, the new convertible comes with racier bodywork, a properly sporting interior, more power and revised suspension geometry.

The Right Engine

The only engine available in the North American Fiat 500 Abarth is the four-cylinder 1.4l Multiair delivering 160 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque. The Abarth is available with a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.

1000 to 3000 units

All Fiat 500 Abarth offered for sale in North America come from the Toluca Mexico assembly plant.
When first shown, Fiat planned only 1000 units of its little pocket racer however, strong demand necessitated revising the production level up to 3000 vehicles.

It is a sure bet the same thing will happen with the convertible version.
