Jaguar F-type will have a V8 option

Jaguar's Upcoming F-type sports car has a lot of people excited. But, the news that it's going to come with a turbocharged four cylinder, and a supercharged hybrid V6 has been a bit controversial... after all, when you have an engine like Jaguar's new 5.0 litre V8 on hand, why wouldn't you use the damn thing?

Well wonder no more, ladies and gentlemen, because that's exactly what they're going to do. Inevitably appearing under the hood of some R, or R-S, model, at least one of Jaguar's great eights will make an appearance. The smart money is on the inclusion of at least one of the supercharged engines, which currently produce either 470 or 550 horsepower, as the naturally aspirated V8 only bests the supercharged V6 by five horsepower. In any case, either of those engines will be a welcome addition to a car that's already lining up to be one hell of a performer.
