Huet Brothers Bring Fresh Coupe RR and Race Model to Market

When the Huet brothers, Tino and Paul, decided to build a car, they went about it in a slightly different manner. Building just 12 examples of their Triumph TR6-based HB Special for use as rental steeds with their own tour company, the pair instantly registered as a small blip on the very large radar screen of the automotive industry, but gained some repute for their cars’ uniquely inspired styling.

Now, three years removed from that endeavour, Tino and Paul are back at it. Trading the aged Triumph underpinnings for thoroughly modern BMW 1-series underpinnings, their new HB Coupe promises interesting performance and head turning styling, but it’s the recently announced HB Coupe RR that’ll have performance enthusiasts salivating. Trading the 1-Series’ steel superstructure for a lightweight carbon fiber monocoque supporting an available trio of BMW-sourced engines ranging from 220 horsepower diesels to 330 horsepower six cylinders, the RR promises 0-60 times ranging from 5.3 seconds to 3.8 seconds, with handling to match. And if that’s not enough, the brothers will apparently also be offering an HB Coupe RR race ready model, to boot.
