2012 Toronto Auto Show: The Cars that didn’t make it to Montreal
The 38th edition of the Toronto Auto Show (commonly known as the “Canadian International Auto Show”) will open its doors from February 17-26, 2012.
More than 1,000 vehicles will be on display and some 125 exhibitors will be on site to present their products.
The Montreal Auto Show
Fortunately for those of us who live in (or near) Quebec, the Montreal Auto Show is always managing to improve its offering, despite the fact that it’s held at the same time as the Detroit Motor Show. As proof, more than 40 new products were featured at the Montreal event, including several exceptional concept cars.
That said, there are always some interesting premiers at the Detroit show that never manage to make it up to Montreal on time. And the winner in that equation is the Toronto Auto Show!
A plethora of new vehicles
Once again this year, the Toronto Auto Show will be showcasing many of the same new vehicles and concepts unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show, despite sharing its timing with the Chicago Auto Show.
The following cars were not available for the Montreal show, but you can catch ‘em in Toronto:
- Acura ILX: The brand’s serious luxury compact
- Acura NSX: Could very well end up being the star of the Toronto show
- BMW i8 Concept: Oh-so close to being a production model
- Buick Encore: A pretty crossover in a compact body
- Cadillac ATS: Finally, a super luxury compact
- Dodge Dart: I love the fact that they’ve revived the name!
- Ford Fusion: Hinting at an all-new style
- Infiniti Etherea Concept: A luxury compact in development
- Jaguar C-X16: The most attractive Jaguar ever!
- Nissan eNV200: An all-electric commercial van
- Scion FR-S: The North American version of the Toyota GT 86
- Toyota Prius C: This compact is destined for success
- Toyota Prius PHV: The rechargeable hybrid production model
- Toyota RAV4 EV: Featuring an electric motor and assembled in Ontario
