Nissan Canada announces cross-country Drive Electric Tour
- Drive Electric experience gives Canadians opportunity to test drive and learn more about all-electric Nissan LEAF -
Nissan Canada Inc. (NCI) today announced that on September 6th, the all-electric Nissan LEAF begins a cross-Canada tour, allowing Canadians to test drive and learn more about the zero-emission vehicle at Nissan LEAF certified dealers.
The Drive Electric Tour begins in Montreal and ends in Vancouver in late October, stopping at 27 LEAF certified dealers across the country for one or two days each. It is a one-of-a-kind consumer driving experience providing prospective Nissan LEAF owners with the opportunity to learn about the car, its technology and features, and take it for a short test drive.
"There's nothing like driving the Nissan LEAF for the first time because people are always amazed that an all-electric car that produces no emissions, is so quiet, responsive and fun to drive, while at the same time being so functional," said Judy Wheeler, Director of Marketing at Nissan Canada, Inc. "The Drive Electric Tour provides an opportunity for those who are curious about the Nissan LEAF to get behind the wheel and ask experts all about what it means to drive electric."
All 27 EV-certified dealers are participating in the tour and will have three Nissan LEAFs available for test drives as well as one on display. Five kilometre test drives are offered to provide ample seat time to experience the Nissan LEAF in real-world driving situations and product experts will be on hand at the event and will accompany each test drive to answer any questions potential customers have.
In addition to experiencing the car for themselves, consumers can learn about home charging options, the low operating cost and Nissan's CARWINGS telematics system, which enables Nissan LEAF owners to communicate with their car by smart phone.
