Kenzie's Korner: Pedestrian safety

During the Toronto mayoral race last year, the idea was brought up by a candidate to reduce speed limits as a way to improve pedestrian safety.

Well pedestrian safety is close to home for Jim Kenzie, having lost a sibling that was struck by a truck, but the idea of reducing speed limits to improve safety flies in the face of about 100 years of research, he says.

Instead, he suggests changing the traffic environment to change driving habits.
