Tip of the Week: Memory steer

Motoring TV resident mechanic Bill Gardiner tackles the issue of memory steer, a condition that may develop in vehicles equipped with MacPherson strut suspension.

Generally found in high-mileage vehicles or those operated regularly on secondary roads, memory steer impacts the bearing in the upper strut mount, causing the vehicle to pull left or right after a turn.

This segment originally appeared on Episode 21 of Motoring 2015.
