Issue: On certain vehicles, the rear brake hoses may may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the brake hoses could fail and create a brake fluid leak. If this happens, there could be reduced braking. This could also cause the antilock brake system (ABS) and dynamic stability control (DSC) system not to work. Note: This problem would cause a warning symbol and messages to display on the instrument panel. Safety Risk: Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, vehicle safety systems that don't work could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the rear brake hoses.
