Issue: On certain vehicles, the bolts for the radiator crossmember may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the strength of the vehicle structure could be reduced in a crash. If this happens, the crash sensors may not work correctly and cause the airbags not to deploy properly. Additionally, this problem could cause certain fuel system components to become damaged in a crash, and fuel could leak. Note: This recall affects both the Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L models. Safety Risk: Airbags that don't work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash. A fuel leak can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to tighten the radiator crossmember bolts.
