Issue: On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by an FCA dealer during recall Z48 (Transport Canada recall no.

2022-305) may not be effective.

As a result, a second repair is required.

On certain vehicles, a problem inside the hydraulic control unit (HCU) for the antilock brake system (ABS) could cause the ABS and electronic stability control (ESC) system not to work.

This could also cause the brake lights to turn on or stay on without pressing the brake pedal, and it may allow the vehicle to be started and the transmission to be shifted out of the Park position (P) without pressing the brake pedal.

Safety Risk: An antilock braking system and/or electronic stability control system that doesn't work could increase the risk of a crash.

A parked vehicle that moves suddenly could create the risk of an injury or a crash.

Brake lights that stay on could cause others not to recognize when the vehicle is braking and increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the integrated pressure transducer on the HCU.

The dealer will also update the ABS software, if necessary.
