Issue: On certain vehicles, the double universal joint on the steering shaft may become damaged during certain steering maneuvers.

As a result, there could be a sudden change in steering feel and an increase in steering effort.

Safety Risk: A sudden change in steering effort could increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the double universal joint on the steering shaft.
