Issue: On certain vehicles, the engine could shut down due to a loss of communication between the transmission control module and the hybrid control processor. An engine shut down would cause a sudden loss of power to the wheels. Note: This recall only affects Grand Cherokee 4xe Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) models. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the vehicle control software.
