Recalls

Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could allow you to close the windows and roof without the digital key inside the vehicle.

Canadian regulations require a key to be in or near the vehicle when closing the windows or roof system.

Safety Risk: A window or roof that can be closed without the digital key in or near the vehicle could create a risk of injury.

Corrective Actions: BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the electronic control unit software.

To reduce safety risk, BMW recommends that you shouldn't use the digital key, and that the vehicle should only be operated with the key fob until the recall repairs are completed.
