Issue: On certain vehicles, incorrect programming in the electronic control unit for the continuously variable transmission (CVT-ECU) may cause engine damage under specific circumstances.

If this happens, the engine could stall and you may not be able to restart it.

Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions: Mitsubishi will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to reprogram the CVT-ECU.
