Issue: On a small number of vehicles, the wire harness for the alternator may have been incorrectly connected to the electric power steering system. As a result, the electric power steering system does not have proper circuit protection. Safety Risk: An overloaded circuit could create a risk of fire. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the electrical connections to the alternator and electric power steering system, and correct them if necessary.
