Issue: On certain vehicles, the brake fluid reservoir cap may be missing the required labeling.

As a result, a person may not know to clean the cap before removing it.

This could allow dirt and debris to enter the brake fluid reservoir.

If this happens, brake performance could degrade over time.

Canadian regulations require certain safety information to be written on the brake fluid reservoir cap.

Safety Risk: Reduced brake performance can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions: General Motors will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect, and if necessary, replace the brake fluid reservoir cap.
