Issue: On certain vehicles, the engine connecting rod bolts could loosen. This can cause engine damage and could result in an engine failure. This could cause a sudden loss of power with an inability to restart and create an oil leak. Note: A driver may notice abnormal engine knocking noises if the connecting rod bolts become loose. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, an engine failure could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Porsche will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect and replace the connecting rods or the entire engine, as necessary.
