Issue: On certain vehicles, a front brake hose may be too long and could rub against the steering mechanism.

This can cause damage to the hose that could result in a brake fluid leak.

If this happens, a driver may have reduced braking.

Safety Risk: Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions: Volkswagen will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the front brake hose.

It will be replaced, if necessary.
