Issue: On certain vehicles, a software update could cause the Centre Information Display ("CID") to go blank.

When this happens, the cockpit control module ("CCM") will continuously reboot every three (3) minutes.

As a result, the rearview camera image will disappear during the reboot process.

Safety Risk: A rearview camera that turns off could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up.

This could increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions: Subaru will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update vehicle software.

If the centre information display is not working properly, the cockpit control module will be replaced.
