Issue: On certain vehicles, the steering knuckle(s) may have been damaged during production. As a result, the steering knuckle could fail without warning and cause a loss of steering control. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create a risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Volkswagen will contact owners directly and instruct you to stop driving your vehicle. Volkswagen will arrange for free towing to the nearest dealership. The steering knuckles will be inspected and replaced, if necessary.
