Previously called XC40 Recharge, the Volvo EX40 is the electric variant of the XC40. For 2026, the rear-wheel-drive models have been dropped from the lineup, leaving only all-wheel-drive models that use dual electric motors and deliver combined output of 402 horsepower. Look for 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4.7 seconds. With its boxy shape, the EX40 offers more cargo space than the coupe-style EC40, but maximum range is shorter at 418 km versus 431 km.
