Although minivan sales are being eaten up by the so-called crossover vehicle market, Volkswagen has gone forward with its Routan model, with a little help from Chrysler. This does not mean the Routan is a mere clone of a Chrysler product, but a model inspired by the latter, all the while respecting the German automaker's standards. It comes equipped with a 4.0-litre V6 engine producing 251 horsepower, which is linked to a six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode.
