Similar to most Subaru models, the Outback stands out from the competition not just with standard all-wheel drive (combined here with an X-MODE function that maximizes capability on the toughest terrains), but also with available advanced safety systems such as EyeSight and reverse automatic braking, which significantly reduce collisions. And just like the Legacy, its 175-hp 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine can be replaced by a 3.6-litre six-cylinder unit producing 256 hp.
