The Ascent is Subaru's three-row midsize SUV. Unlike many rivals, this one doesn't offer a hybrid variant or a V6. The only available engine is a turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder producing 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. Subaru's excellent all-wheel drive system is a plus, as is the versatile interior, while the maximum towing capacity of 5,000 lbs puts the Ascent in the middle of its class.
