The 5 Series midsize sedan offers a wide range of powertrains. It can be specified with four, six or eight cylinders, or even as a plug-in hybrid. Output ranges from 255 horsepower to a staggering 717 horsepower. The latter, of course, is generated by the almighty M5, whose twin-turbo V8 engine is paired with an electric motor. For 2026, BMW is adding a Legacy Edition model (six cylinders) exclusive to the Canadian market and limited to 151 units.
