The 10 Best Engines and Motors of 2024 According to Wards Auto
U.S. magazine Wards Auto has just announced its list of the 10 Best Engines & Propulsion Systems for 2024. The panel evaluated 34 vehicles overall including the 2023 winners, which were all eligible to return.
Scoring is based on horsepower, torque, NVH management, observed efficiency and new technology onboard. There is no price cap, but value remains part of the criteria.

This year’s top 10 includes as many as six hybrid powertrains, only two fully electric systems and two internal combustion engines, mirroring the auto industry’s shift from EVs to hybrids. Check out the photo gallery above to see the list, in alphabetical order.
