The Fabulous Automobile Museum of Malaga, Spain
The Museo Automovilistico de Málaga opened its doors in 2010, displaying the private collection of Portuguese car enthusiast Joao Magalhaes. A very diversified collection, with some well-known classics, but also vehicles produced by some very obscure brands. Grab a chair and sit down, the visit is about to begin!

1955 Fuldamobile. German brand. A three-wheeled city car nicknamed "The Egg."

1939 Lancia Astura. This car was custom built for an Italian countess by coachbuilder Castagna. In the back seat, we find a boudoir with jars of perfume and makeup.

1936 Auburn. Equipped with a supercharged 4.6L V8 engine. Nicknamed "The Submarine."

1937 Peugeot 402 Eclipse. The car's retractable hardtop, baptised Eclipse, was invented by a dentist. This particular car is said to have been buried underground during WWII, and according to the museum, it was one of the most difficult to restore.

1968 Rolls-Royce Phantom VI. A replica of a car stylised and driven by John Lennon in the psychedelic Sixties.

1904 Minerva Minervette. A Belgian brand eventually sold to Charles Royce, who went on to found Rolls-Royce. This car, equipped with a 600-cc single-cylinder engine that produces 5 horsepower, was driven by King Carlos I of Portugal during his visit to the village of Vidago. That where the car was found some 60 years later.

1903 De Dion-Bouton. French brand. Equipped with a 700-cc single-cylinder engine that produces 6 horsepower.

1908 Richmond. American brand. Equipped with a 22-horsepower, four-cylinder engine. According to the museum, only two copies of this Richmond still exist today. Aside from this one, the other car is sitting in a museum in... Richmond, Virginia.

1912 Hupmobile. American brand. Equipped with a 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine that develops 16 horsepower. According to the museum, this sporty car cost 750 $ when new.

1911 Renault. A model identical to the one used in the movie Titanic.

1916 Buick. Equipped with a 3.7-litre six-cylinder engine that develops 23 horsepower.

1908 Charron. French brand. The personal car of Santas-Dumont, considered to be a pioneer in the field of aviation.

1912 Barron Acroyd. English brand. Equipped with a 1.0-litre two-cylinder engine producing 12 horsepower, and named after its creator.

1928 Ballot. French brand established by Ernest Ballot in 1921, which was later purchased by Hispano-Suiza in 1931. It ceased its operations one year later.

1927 Paige. American brand. Equipped with a 4.1-litre six-cylinder engine that develops 38 horsepower.

1921 Lancia Dikappa. Equipped with a 4.9-litre four-cylinder engine that develops 70 horsepower. This car is also equipped with an intercom, allowing passengers to give directives to the chauffeur.

1923 Minvera. Belgian brand. Equipped with a 5.4-litre six-cylinder engine that develops 120 horsepower, this luxurious car boasts a silk-trimmed cockpit.

1936 Fiat 500 Topolino. Equipped with a 570-cc four-cylinder engine that produces 13 horsepower.

1931 Morris Minor. Nicknamed the "Doctor's car" because it allowed him to quickly reach his patients (instead of performing house calls by horse). Equipped with an 800-cc four-cyliner engine that produces 19 horsepower.

1928 Austin Seven. A popular car, with more than 300,000 units produced between 1922 and 1939. This one is equipped with a 750-cc four-cylinder engine that develops 14 horsepower.

1928 Austin Seven. Dressed in black and nicknamed the "Priest's car", it's equipped with a 750-cc four-cylinder engine that develops 14 horsepower.

1922 Citroën. Equipped with a 900-cc four-cylinder engine that develops 11 horsepowr, this car is said to have been very popular with women, at a time when they started their liberation movement.

1928 Morgan. English brand reknown for its three-wheeled vehicles with front-mounted engines. Morgan still exists today. This car is equipped with a 1.1-litre two-cylinder engine that develops 28 horsepower.

1963 Velorex. Czechoslovakian brand. Equipped with a 300-cc two-cylinder engine developing 16 horsepower. Accord to the museum, this car was popular at the time, like many other three-wheeled minicars. Its top speed was 30 km/h.

1917 Hispano-Suiza. Spanish luxury brand. Equipped with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that develops 50 horsepower.

1930 Nash Ambassador. American brand. Equipped with a 4.9-litre V8 that develops 100 horsepower.

1931 Studebaker President. American brand. Equipped with a 5.5-litre V8 that develops 122 horsepower.

1920 Unic. French brand. This car was decorated as a trribute to artist Sonia Delaunay, the first painter ever to decorate automobiles.

1937 Mercedes-Benz 540K. One of the most expensive cars before WWII, it was equipped with a supercharged, 5.4-litre eight-cylinder engine that develops 180 horsepower. A total of 447 units were built.

1936 Bugatti Type 57 Galibier. Equipped with a 3.3-litre eight-cylinder engine that develops 135 horsepower.

1936 Rolls-Royce Phantom. Equipped with a 7.3-litre 12-cylinder engine that develops 165 horsepower.

1916 Minerva. Belgian brand. This car is exposed in the state in which it was found, victim of bombings during WWII. We can even spot bullet holes on the rear seat.

1939 Packard by Diederich. American brand. Equipped with a 7.3-litre V12 engine that develops 175 horsepower, this limousine was popular with leaders such as President Roosevelt and George VI, King of England.

1938 Delage. Franch brand. Equipped with a six-cylinder engine, this car was popular with rich and famous people. This particular car's cockpit is dressed with ostrich leather, assorted with silver and ivory trim. Note the crystal eagle's head on top of the front grille.

1930 Pierce Arrow. American brand. Equipped with a 6.0-litre eight-cylinder engine that develops 125 horsepower.

1938 BMW 327/328. A sporty car equipped with a 2.0-litre six-cylinder engine that develops 55 horsepower.

1934 Lancia Dilambda. Equipped with a 4.0-litre V8 that develops 100 horsepower.

1937 Talbot. French brand. Equipped with a 4.0-litre six-cylinder engine that develops 115 horsepower.

1937 Cord 812. American brand. A work of art on wheels, designed by Gordon Buehrig, one of the best automobile stylists in history. Equipped with a surpercharged, 4.7-litre eight-cylinder engine that develops 170 horsepower.

1934 DeSoto Airflow. American brand established by Walter P. Chrysler in 1928, which ceased its operations in 1960. A car that boasted a style considered too bold for its time, which resulted in commercial failure.

1938 Panhard et Levassor. French brand. Equipped with a 2.9-litre six-cylinder engine that develops 100 horsepower. An art deco styled car, with a centre-mounted steering wheel so the driver could sit between two female passengers.

1930 Renault Nervastella. Equipped with a 4.2-litre eight-cylinder engine that develops 24 horsepower. This hunting car was ordered by Mr. Astor, owner of the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York. With colours inspired by the work of Salvador Dali.

1949 Allard. British brand. Equipped with an American-made 3.6-litre V8 engine.

1963 Citroën DS. A uniquely designed car, equipped with an air suspension and a 1.9-litre four-cylinder engine that develops 102 horsepower.

1930 FN-Fabrique Nationale Typ 1300. Belgian brand. Equipped with a 1.3-litre four-cylinder engine, this model was the very first wheeled vehicles to cross Africa in 1928, from North to South.

1937 Cord 812. American brand. A work of art on wheels, designed by Gordon Buehrig, one of the best automobile stylists in history. Equipped with a surpercharged, 4.7-litre eight-cylinder engine that develops 170 horsepower.

1954 Kaiser Darrin. American brand. Equipped with a 2.6-litre six-cylinder engine that develops 90 horsepower. Only 400 units of this car were produced.

1954 Chrysler Imperial. Only 11 units of this "presidential" version were built: one of them belonged to the Principality of Monaco, while another was the official car of General Craverio Lopes, 12th president of Portugal. Equipped with a 5.8-litre V8 that develops 284 horsepower.

1947 Cadillac Series 62. Equipped with a 6.4-litre V8 that develops 150 horsepower.

1956 Ford Thunderbird. Equipped with a 5.1-litre V8 that develops 215 horsepower.

1948 Cadillac Series 62. Equipped with a 5.6-litre V8 that develops 152 horsepower.

1947 Tatra Type 87. Czechoslovakian brand. Equipped with a 3.0-litre eight-cylinder engine that develops 74 horsepower.

1913 Milburn Electric. American brand. According to the museum, it was the most affordable, the lightest and the most energy efficient electric car of its time. It boasted a driving range of 80 kilometres and could reach a top speed of 100 km/h. The car wasn't equipped with a steering wheel, but rather levers to steer it. Milburn Electric built 4000 units of its car before being bought up by General Motors.

1910 Stanley Steamer. American brand. At the time, steam-powered cars performed better than those equipped with combustion engines. The invention of the electric starter, making engines much safer than using a crank, pretty much sealed steam-powered cars' fate.

1923 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost. Equipped with a 7.4-litre six-cylinder engine that develops 48 horsepower.

1927 Rolls-Royce Shooting Brake. The British aristocrats had the habit of using Rollers during their hunting trips. Especially in India, where they hunted tigers. Equipped with a 3.1-litre six-cylinder engine that develops 50 horsepower.

1924 Rolls-Royce Twenty. A smaller and more affordable Rolls, necessary after WWI. Equipped with a 3.1-litre six-cylinder engine that develops 50 horsepower.

1948 Bentley Mark VI. Equipped with a 4.3-litre six-cylinder engine that develops 126 horsepower.

1936 Bentley « Top Hat ». Equipped with a 4.3-litre six-cylinder engine that develops 125 horsepower.

1949 Bentley Mark VI. Equipped with a 4.3-litre six-cylinder engine that develops 126 horsepower. This car stands out with its gold paint and its leopard-trimmed seat upholstery.

1949 Jaguar Mark V. Equipped with a 3.5-litre six-cylinder engine that deveops 125 horsepower. This particular car was found in Alaska.

1948 Jaguar Mark IV. Equipped with a 3.5-litre six-cylinder engine that develops 125 horsepower.

1937 Rosengart Supertrahuit. Equipped with front-wheel drive and an eight-cylinder engine. Here, the museum wanted to demonstrate that the destruction caused by man isn't irreversible, as nature always finds a way to appropriate a space occupied by humans. Or, they didn't feel like restoring this very rare automobile...

1985 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit. Equipped with a 6.7-litre V8 that develops 200 horsepower. This car was decorated with Swarovski crystals by Susana Martins.

1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz. Equipped with a 6.4-litre V8 that develops 345 horsepower. Typically American car of the Fifties, with an overall length of more than six metres.

1985 Excalibur. American brand. Equipped with a 5.0-litre V8 that develops 157 horsepower. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone both owned one of these to stroll down the streets of Hollywood.

1950 Maserati A6. Equipped with a 1.5-litre six-cylinder engine that develops 65 horsepower. Only 59 units of this version were built, and this particular car was owned by Prince Vittorio Massimo de Roccasseca, member of an aristocratic family of Rome.

1955 Porsche Speedster. Equipped with a 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine that develops 88 horsepower. Nicknamed the inverted bathtub, this Speedster was very popular in the United States.

1952 Jaguar XK120. Equipped with a 3.5-litre six-cylinder that develops 160 horsepower. This one is nicknamed "The Black Cat."

1946 Alfa Romeo 6C. Equipped with a 2.5-litre six-cylinder engine.

1956 Ferrari 250 GT. Equipped with a 3.0-litre twelve-cylinder engine that develops 280 horsepower. Only four units of this version were built, and according to the museum, they are all unique.

1956 Mercedes-Benz 300SL "Gullwing." Equipped with a 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine that develops 212 horsepower.

1959 Aston Martin DB4. Equipped with a 3.7-litre six-cylinder engine that develops 240 horsepower.

1952 Aston Martin DB2. Equipped with a 2.6-litre six-cylinder engine that develops 125 horsepower.

1952 Delahaye. French brand. Equipped with a 3.5-litre six-cylinder engine that develops 152 horsepower. This particular car crossed Africa, from Cape Town to Algiers, in 10 days and 5 hours, covering a total of 14,299 km.

1954 Jaguar XK120. Equipped with a 3.5-litre six-cylinder engine that develops 160 horsepower.

1962 Jaguar E-Type. Equipped with a 4.2-litre six-cylinder engine that develops 259 horsepower.

1934 Ford Coupe. Equipped with a 3.6-litre V8. This car is trimmed with Swarovski crystals.

1938 Lincoln-Zephyr. Equipped with a 4.4-litre twelve-cyliner engine that develops 110 horsepower. This car is a tribute to Boyd Coddington, world-reknown designer of hot rods that passed away in 2008.
