Drive Electric Program in Quebec: Changes According to the 2017-2018 Budget
Starting April 1 2017, fully electric vehicles costing $125,000 or more will no longer be eligible for a Drive Electric rebate in Quebec.

Plug-in hybrid vehicles costing less than $75,000 will still benefit from a rebate through Quebec's Drive Electric program. The rebate is set at $4,000 or $8,000, according to the size of the vehicle's battery.

Through a new pilot project from April 1 2017 to March 31 2018, a rebate of $4,000 will be offered towards the purchase or lease of an eligible pre-owned electric vehicle in Quebec. The project also includes a rebate of $600 towards the installation of a 240-volt charging station at home.

Starting April 1 2017, plug-in hybrid vehicles that cost $75,000 or more will no longer be eligible for a Drive Electric rebate in Quebec.

Starting April 1 2017, fully electric vehicles costing at least $75,000, but less than $120,000, will see their Drive Electric rebate in Quebec drop from $8,000 to $3,000.

Starting April 1 2017, fully electric vehicles costing $125,000 or more will no longer be eligible for a Drive Electric rebate in Quebec.

Starting April 1 2017, and up to June 30 2018, Quebec's Drive Electric program will offer a $8,000 rebate towards the purchase or lease of a fuel-cell powered vehicle.
