Lotus Recruits Talent from BMW, Ferrari
It’s been a few months now since Lotus announced their proposed plan to completely rebuild their image after a newer, more luxurious style. Typically known for building some of the fastest, most nimble, and most uncompromising cars on the road, the British marque hopes to muscle in on Lamborghini and Ferrari’s territory with a new line of vehicles that promise cachet and comfort. What’s the best way to go about doing this? By hiring those that know the market inside and out; and that’s exactly what Lotus has done. Beginning with the company’s current CEO and ex-Ferrari exec, Dany Behar, Lotus appears to be trolling Europe’s proverbial waters for other exotic executives. The latest acquisitions? Ferrari’s former General Manager and now Lotus’ newly appointed Director of Sales; Guillaume Chabin.
Commenting on the appointments, Group Lotus CEO Dany Bahar said: "We are very pleased to have Guillaume on board. One of the keys to the success of any business is having exceptionally talented people working together effectively. Having worked with Guillaume previously, I'm fully aware of his capabilities – his business skills and understanding of the vision we have for Lotus complement our existing management line-up perfectly."
Commenting on his new role, Chabin, said: "Joining Lotus was an easy decision for me to make – having previously been involved in the re-birth of an iconic British brand when I was working at Bentley, I know the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead – this is a crucial time for Lotus and I'm very happy to be on board."
