Bentley Introduces New Continental GT S With 670 Horsepower

The new Bentley Continental GT lineup welcomes a fourth member with the return of the S model, which packs more power than the base GT but obviously not as much as the Speed and Supersports. The latter, incidentally, is the only one that doesn’t feature hybrid tech and all-wheel drive.

The twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 pairs with an electric motor to give the Continental GT S an impressive 670 horsepower and 686 lb-ft of torque, respectively 128 hp and 118 lb-ft more than the previous generation. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h now takes 3.5 seconds, which is half a second quicker, but top speed is down to 306 km/h—in case you planned to rip Germany’s autobahns.

This electrified Continental GT S can also operate in pure electric mode for a distance of 50 km, according to Bentley. It also gets for the first time rear-wheel steering and an electronic limited-slip differential, not to mention the active roll stabilization system borrowed from the Speed.

When it comes to styling, besides the unique badges, highlights include several black accents on the exterior along with tinted headlights and taillights, plus dark exhaust tips. The wheels, which normally sport a two-tone finish, can be replaced with all-black alloys.

Bentley hasn't shared any pictures of the interior, but we can tell you that the black theme continues inside the car, notably with piano black trim and available dark tint chrome specification for all metal brightwork. Oh, and the two-tone upholstery split is unique to this model.

Available in coupe and convertible body styles, the new Bentley Continental GT S is expected to go on sale later this year as a 2027 model. It supports the British manufacturer's transition from the recently discontinued W12 engine to the fully electric powertrains of the future.

Bentley has pushed back its goal of selling only EVs from 2030 to 2035 and last summer gave us a preview of the vehicle that will kick things off with the EXP 15 concept.
