Top 10 Electric Vehicles With the Longest Range in 2026
Demand for electric vehicles took a big hit in Canada last year. Politics and high prices combined with the loss or suspension of EV incentives are part of the explanation, although many automakers have responded by offering sizable discounts. Range continues to be a hurdle for a number of potential customers, too.
Speaking of which, you will find EVs that can travel over 500 km on a single charge in most market segments these days. Some examples include compact cars (Kia EV4), compact SUVs (Chevrolet Equinox EV) and three-row SUVs (Hyundai IONIQ 9).

10. Kia EV4 Wind

Range: 552 km (Kia estimate)
Retail Price: $42,995
All-new for 2026, this Korean compact sedan—roughly the size of a Honda Civic—arrives as the cheapest electric car in Canada. Starting at $38,995 plus fees, the base Kia EV4 Light offers a decent range of 391 km with its 58.3kWh battery, but the EV4 Wind model achieves the longest range with an 81.4kWh battery. 9. BMW iX xDrive60

Range: 586 km
Retail Price: $94,900
For its fifth year on the market, the BMW iX receives extra power and upgraded batteries. The exterior remains polarizing, although some cosmetic revisions make it easier to digest. A word of advice: keep an eye out for the upcoming 2027 iX3, which will usher in a new era of BMW electric vehicles.
8. Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4MATIC

Range: 597 km
Retail Price: $160,400
Plagued by fast depreciation, various reliability issues, uninspiring looks and a small interior by full-size sedan standards, the EQS has failed to replace the venerable S-Class as Mercedes-Benz's flagship. This is why there won’t be a second generation. Still, you have to like the car’s smooth ride and solid performance.
7. Audi A6 e-tron

Range: 607 km
Retail Price: $83,645
Launched in the spring of 2025, the A6 e-tron is similar to the conventionally powered A6 but is built on a separate platform. In order to take advantage of the 607 km of range, you have to select the Ultra model and try not to look too hard at the unattractive, aero-designed wheels. Incidentally, other A6 e-tron models are limited to 536 km.
6. Tesla Model S and Model X

Range: 660 and 566 km
Retail Price: $139,990 and $149,990
Although the Model S and Model X are among the oldest new vehicles on the market (they originally launched in 2012 and 2016, respectively), they still prove quite competitive. Just consider their specs. The sedan and SUV have recently benefited from a refresh including new features, revised suspension and subtle cosmetic updates.
5. Rivian R1T Dual Motor Max Battery

Range: 676 km
Retail Price: $150,990
Sharing most of its components with the R1S SUV, the Rivian R1T is an electric pickup with slightly larger dimensions than a Chevrolet Colorado. The cargo bed isn't very long, but storage space is plentiful and towing capacity can go as high as 11,000 lbs. Range depends on battery capacity (92.5, 108.5 or 140 kWh).
4. Lucid Gravity Grand Touring

Range: 724 km (Lucid estimate)
Retail Price: $131,900
California-based Lucid’s second vehicle, the Gravity, nicely complements the Air sedan. A cutting-edge design, surprisingly good handling, efficient powertrain and spacious interior are some of its highlights. Natural Resources Canada has not yet released an official rating, but according to the EPA test cycle in the U.S., this electric SUV can travel up to 724 km on a single charge.
3. Cadillac Escalade IQ

Range: 748 km (Cadillac estimate)
Retail Price: $157,399
From a technical standpoint, the Escalade IQ is a completely different vehicle from the standard Escalade with an internal combustion engine. However, like any self-respecting Escalade, this extra-large SUV epitomizes excess. In fact, it weighs nearly four metric tons and is classified as a heavy truck due to its Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). Inside, there’s a curved display spanning 55 inches. Oh, and if you need more space, don’t miss the long-wheelbase Escalade IQL that stands over 5.8 metres long.
2. Chevrolet Silverado EV Max Range

Range: 793 km
Retail Price: $82,699
While Ford is abandoning the fully electric F-150 Lightning and plans to introduce a successor with range-extending EV technology, GM keeps moving forward with the Silverado EV and Sierra EV. Three battery options are available, offering a range anywhere between 455-793 km. The largest one has a capacity of 205 kWh and weighs as much as a Toyota Corolla, affecting handling.
1. Lucid Air Grand Touring

Range: 824 km
Retail Price: $158,900
The expertly designed and built Lucid Air is a pure electric car that also happens to be a world-class luxury sedan. The amazingly spacious cabin and trunk, high levels of refinement and small car-like energy consumption are impressive. Ditto for power and range, the latter still unmatched after five years on the market.
