Here’s How Much the HEMI V8 Costs With the 2026 Ram 1500

Despite a significant update for 2025, sales of the Ram 1500 have suffered, largely due to high price tags and the discontinuation of the 5.7-litre HEMI V8. As you've probably heard by now, the latter is returning for the 2026 model year. The company has just announced that orders in Canada begin today and simultaneously shared pricing information.

But first, let’s go over some of the key specs once again. The HEMI V8 produces 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque in addition to utilizing the eTorque mild hybrid system to save a bit of fuel (combined 11 L/100 km fuel consumption) and boost acceleration. Another system deactivates four of the eight cylinders under light engine load for further efficiency.

If we look at the least expensive 2026 Ram 1500, in Tradesman trim, the 5.7-litre HEMI V8 option costs an additional $4,495 compared to the 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 (305 hp, 269 lb-ft, 12.1 L/100 km, towing capacity up to 3,420 kg/7,540 lbs). Those who prefer the twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre six-cylinder Hurricane engine (420 hp, 469 lb-ft, 12.1 L/100 km, towing capacity up to 5,185 kg/11,430 lbs) must pay a premium of $3,795.

In case you’re wondering, a 2026 Ford F-150 or Chevrolet Silverado 1500 similarly equipped with a V8 engine and 4x4 configuration can be had from $61,635 and $60,570, respectively (including fees). That said, Ram has the edge in the warranty department, covering the powertrain for 10 years or 160,000 km. The Car Guide is awaiting a response from Stellantis Canada regarding the availability of any manufacturer rebates that may apply.
