Ram Extends New Powertrain Warranty to Entire 2026 Model Year

On New Year's Day, Ram had a big gift for high-performance truck enthusiasts in the form of the new, 777-horsepower 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX. The company also added a Cummins diesel engine option to the Ram Power Wagon.

Well, today it announced that its new 10-year/160,000 km limited powertrain warranty, which was originally set to end on January 2, 2026, will be extended through the entire 2026 model year. Ram said it made this decision based on the numerous comments made by customers and dealers.

It should also be noted that the warranty is valid only for the original owner or lessee (individual or business) and covers the engine, transmission, transfer case, drive shafts, differentials and axles. Furthermore, it does not apply to fleet orders.

According to Ram, nearly 80 percent of new truck loans now exceed five years, as many buyers choose to keep their vehicles longer.

Over at Ford and General Motors, the available powertrain warranty is currently 5 years or 100,000 km.
