Kia Vision Meta Turismo May Hint at Electric Stinger Replacement

As part of a new exhibition in South Korea to celebrate its 80th anniversary, Kia today unveiled the Vision Meta Turismo concept hinting at a future sports sedan for the EV age.

It’s yet another expression of the automaker’s "Opposites United" design language, embodied by a distinctly more radical and more angular silhouette. The plunging, shark nose-like front end incorporates a large black panel, while the angled, ultra-thin headlights extend all the way to the cameras that replace the side mirrors.

The hood quickly gives way to a huge expanse of glass encompassing the windshield, roof and rear window. The bodysides, meanwhile, are defined by the absence of door handles as well as sharp character lines that rise towards the rear.

This is where Kia's concept appears the most conventional and most elegant, in our opinion. At the same time, it never forgets its sporty car aspirations—just look at the wide stance and tires or the sizable diffuser.

A Gamer’s Dream Cabin

Now, the interior is even further removed from current Kia models. The driver and front passenger each have their own separate environment, the former facing a uniquely styled, D-shaped steering wheel and a joystick-like control on the armrest, the purpose of which is not specified.

There is no centre touchscreen, only a miniature screen in front of the steering wheel as well as a large head-up display with augmented reality—including Speedster, Dreamer and Gamer modes—on the windshield.

“The Vision Meta Turismo embodies Kia’s vision that integrates dynamic mobility and human-centered spaces,” said Karim Habib, head of Kia global design. “It is an expression of Kia’s commitment to continually bring technologically advanced mobility and experiences that engage, stimulate and inspire.”

Will a Production Model Follow?

Kia is expected to reveal more details about this vehicle at a later date, so we don't know exactly what its plans are at the moment. Will executives give the green light to production?

If so, this car would be positioned above the EV4 sedan (due to launch in Canada in early 2026) and could be called EV8. Remember, company president Ho-sung Song stated last year that a new electrified version of the discontinued Stinger was under consideration. What are your thoughts?
