2027 Bentley Continental GT Supersports is Lightest, Most Visceral Ever

Bentley is reviving the Supersports moniker—which turned 100 this year—for a new, more exhilarating and more driver-focused version of its Continental GT.

Forget the hybrid powertrain and all-wheel drive system: the twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8, without any electric assistance, sends all 657 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels, marking a first for a non-racing Continental.

That doesn't make it the most powerful or fastest Bentley, a title that still belongs to the Continental GT Speed, but this car reaches 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and has a top speed of 310 km/h. More importantly, it’s the one that will provide the most thrills to drivers, in line with the goal set by Bentley's engineers.

Power is handled by an optimized eight-speed ZF dual-clutch transmission, an electronic limited-slip differential and a torque-vectoring system. What’s more, the chassis, suspension, steering (with rear-wheel steering) and electronic systems have all been custom-tuned for enhanced responsiveness.

Next, the Continental GT Supersports receives new 22-inch forged wheels from Manthey Racing, fitted with standard Pirelli P-Zero tires or optional Trofeo RS tires, and slowed down by the world's largest carbon-ceramic brake discs (440 mm at the front). Meanwhile, the Akrapovic titanium exhaust system takes care of delivering a louder, more intoxicating sound.

Bentley has improved aerodynamics to add 300 kg of downforce while using various weight-saving measures to bring the car down to less than two tons. Among other things, the roof is made of carbon fibre, insulation has been trimed, and the rear seats have been eliminated and replaced by a carbon fibre tub wrapped in leather. It’s not only the lightest Continental GT ever, but also the lightest Bentley since 1940.

What else? Since no detail ever escapes Bentley’s designers, they've incorporated Camel accents to the lower body along with Camel lower striping and a contrast number 8 to the grille (a nod to the engine). Inside, the two lightweight sport seats are positioned lower than usual, carbon fibre inserts can be found throughout the cabin (though it's still possible to personalize the car infinitely through the Mulliner division), and a numbered plaque adorns the centre console.

Yes, because the Bentley Continental GT Supersports will be limited to 500 units. Canada, as one of the target markets, will receive a few. Orders are set to open in March 2026, with the first deliveries to follow early in 2027.
