Two New Mercedes-Benz Wagons Launching in Canada This Fall

While Mercedes-Benz is busy revising its entire EV strategy, which includes ending EQE production for 2026, other midsize cars are set to join its Canadian portfolio.

Later this fall, the three E-Class sedan models will indeed be joined by a pair of wagons including an all-terrain model.

Let’s start with the 2026 Mercedes-AMG E 53 Hybrid Wagon. Similar to its four-door sibling bearing the same moniker, it combines an AMG-enhanced 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder turbocharged engine with a synchronous electric motor to generate 577 horsepower as standard, or 604 horsepower with optional Race Start function. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h can be achieved in as little as 3.9 seconds.

A fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system, active rear-axle steering and AMG Ride Control suspension with adaptive adjustable damping also come into play. An AMG Dynamic Plus package further improves cornering and braking performance.

Of course, we must not forget to mention the 28.6kWh high-voltage battery (usable capacity of 21.2 kWh), which is mounted under the cargo floor. Pure electric range remains to be determined but should be around 60-65 km. What we do know is that it can be replenished not only using a Level-2 AC charger (max 9.6 kW), but also via a DC fast charger (max 60 kW).

Other highlights include available 20- and 21-inch AMG wheels, AMG Night and Carbon Fibre packages giving the exterior more style, plus AMG Performance seats and the company’s MBUX Superscreen featuring a 12.3-inch passenger-side display.

Ready to Go Off-Road?

Luxury wagon buyers are a pretty small club in Canada. Even fewer want to venture off-road. Nevertheless, here comes the 2026 Mercedes-Benz E 450 4MATIC All-Terrain Wagon.

In addition to 4MATIC all-wheel drive and air suspension, this model boasts an Off-Road drive mode, specific off-road display and 360-degree camera system including a “transparent hood” view that makes it easy to see where the front wheels are in relation to the road or trail.

The E 450 4MATIC All-Terrain Wagon also has a more robust appearance. Compared to the E-Class sedan, it is wider (1,889 mm) and taller (1,497 mm) while sporting a unique front grille, special bumpers, chrome front and rear underride guards, as well as dark grey wheel arch cladding over 19- or 20-inch wheels. The power liftgate reveals a 615-litre trunk that expands to 1,830 litres by folding the second-row 40/20/40 seatbacks.

What about the powertrain? Here, we're talking about a 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbocharged engine with 48V mild hybrid technology. The 375 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque are handled by a nine-speed automatic transmission and allow 0-100 km/h sprints in 4.7 seconds.

Pricing for the 2026 Mercedes-AMG E 53 Hybrid Wagon and 2026 Mercedes-Benz E 450 4MATIC All-Terrain Wagon starts at $109,900 and $92,250, respectively. Then you have to add the various fees and the federal luxury tax where applicable.
