2026 Lexus NX Loses Base Model, Cuts Some of Its Prices
The Lexus NX, which is manufactured in Ontario in most cases, saw its Canadian sales jump by no less than 58 percent during the first half of 2025, overtaking the venerable RX as the brand's best-selling SUV in the process. Is this a sign that consumers prefer a more affordable vehicle? If so, we have good news and bad news.
First, Lexus has decided to eliminate the base NX 250 for the 2026 model year, the one that used to sell for an all-inclusive price of $54,155. Admittedly, few customers found what they were looking for in its naturally aspirated 2.5-litre engine producing 203 horsepower.

Consequently, the least expensive 2026 Lexus NX becomes the NX 350 Premium model, which starts at $58,230—a $420 increase from 2025. Here, a turbocharged 2.4-litre engine producing 275 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque is hiding under the hood.
On a positive note, the Luxury, Ultra Luxury, Executive, F Sport 2 and F Sport 3 packages have all been reduced by $180.

When it comes to the gas-electric NX 350h featuring a 240-horsepower hybrid system and achieving a combined 6 L/100 km, we’re sorry to inform you that the all-inclusive price of the cheapest model, called Premium, has increased by $1,260 to $61,075. The Luxury, Ultra Luxury and Executive packages, meanwhile, have increased by $720.
Lexus is adding new F Sport 2 and F Sport 3 packages to the 2026 lineup, which require an additional $7,517 and $13,708, respectively.

As for the top-line NX 450h+ equipped with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, it returns for 2026 with the same 304 horsepower and 58 km of pure electric range. All-inclusive prices start at $63,390. Remember, the federal incentive for the purchase of zero-emission vehicles is no longer available, but some provincial rebates still apply including up to $2,000 in Quebec.
A new F Sport 2 package, which was previously unavailable with this model, requires an extra of $13,100. Incidentally, the most expensive 2026 NX model, namely the NX 450h+ F Sport 3, is $535 cheaper than a year ago.
We at The Car Guide rank the Lexus NX among the best buys in the luxury compact SUV segment, mainly because it offers great value, high fuel economy and excellent predicted reliability.
